Resume FAQ's

Your resume can be created via your RecruitMilitary professional profile with our resume generation tool.

A chronological resume is a common format most employers anticipate seeing. This is used when your roles or industries are similar. A functional resume is a viable option for those who have little work experience and are just getting started in their career (ex., graduates) or those who’ve been out of the workforce for an extended period. A combined resume uses a blend of chronological and functional formats, this can be used by those who have taken an employment break and pursued training, credentialing, education, and/or volunteer work. This format is also frequently used by those pivoting careers. A CV format is mainly utilized by professionals such as professors, teachers, lawyers, scientists, medical workers, etc. There isn’t a “best” format, but rather a format that can be used based on your circumstance.

Employers utilize resume scanners, applicant tracking systems, and AI tools to streamline and optimize the hiring process. Review the job description and adjust your resume to align with the targeted position by utilizing keywords and phrases from the job description. Show the employer how you are the person for the role you are applying to.

Simply select the job you wish to apply for, review, and click “Apply Now.”
