RecruitMilitary to Present Civilian Jobs/Opportunities Expo for Veterans in Cincinnati on April 14

Cincinnati, OH (PR Log) March 14, 2011 – RecruitMilitary, a military-to-civilian recruiting firm, will present a free civilian employment, business-opportunity, and education event for job seekers who have military backgrounds at Paul Brown Stadium, home of the Cincinnati Bengals, on Thursday, April 14. The Xavier University Veterans Affairs Office will sponsor the event. RecruitMilitary is inviting veterans who already have civilian work experience, men and women who are transitioning from active duty to civilian life, members of the National Guard and reserves, military spouses, and other military family members. The event, called the RecruitMilitary Veteran Opportunity Expo, will take place from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m.

RecruitMilitary and Xavier expect more than 35 employers, franchisors, and educational institutions to reserve exhibitor booths at the Expo. Already signed up are Accenture, Beckfield College, Chancellor University, Cincinnati VA Medical Center – Mobile Unit, Cornerstone Senior Services, DeVry University, Farmers Insurance, Frisch’s Restaurants Inc., Grand Canyon University, Limestone College, Mercy Health Partners, National College, the National Veterans Employment Program (NVEP) of the United States Department of Veterans Affairs, New Horizons Computer Learning Center, New York Life, Northern Kentucky University, the Ohio Army National Guard, Prudential Insurance Company, Remote Imagery Technologies Inc., Roto-Rooter, Schwan’s Food Manufacturing Inc., Snap-On Tools, The Dwyer Group, The Home Depot, 20/20 Companies, Verizon Wireless, Walgreens, Waste Management Inc., and Wellpoint Inc.

Xavier University created its Veterans Affairs Office ( in November 2009 to attract and support the growing number of veterans returning to college. That number is growing as a result of the Post-9/11 GI Bill, which became effective on Aug. 1, 2009. The bill provides financial support for education and housing to individuals with at least 90 days of aggregate service on or after Sept. 11, 2001, or individuals honorably discharged with a service-connected disability after 30 days. The office is led by Nate Davis, a veteran of the United States Marine Corps.

RecruitMilitary ( ) will produce the Expo in cooperation with The American Legion (, an association of veterans who served during times of war. The Legion has about 2.4 million members in 14,000 posts throughout the world. Congress chartered and incorporated the association in 1919.

RecruitMilitary has scheduled 45 additional Expos for 2011. Those events will take place in Atlanta, Baltimore, Birmingham, Boston, Charlotte, Chicago, Cincinnati (on September 22), Colorado Springs, Columbus, Dallas, Denver, Houston, Jacksonville, Kansas City, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Miami, Minneapolis, Nashville, New York, Norfolk, Philadelphia, Phoenix, Pittsburgh, Richmond, St. Louis, San Diego, San Jose, Tacoma, Tampa, and Washington.
