RecruitMilitary to Present Free Opportunity Expo for Veterans and Spouses in Cincinnati on March 25

Cincinnati, OH (PR Log) Feb 19, 2010 — The military-to-civilian recruiting firm RecruitMilitary will present a free employment, entrepreneurship, and education event for job seekers who have military backgrounds in Cincinnati on Thursday, March 25. This event, the RecruitMilitary Opportunity Expo, will take place at Great American Ball Park, home of the Cincinnati Reds, and will be sponsored by the Xavier University Veterans Affairs Office.

The event will be open to veterans who already have civilian work experience, men and women who are transitioning from active duty to civilian life, members of the National Guard and reserves, military spouses, and other military family members. The Expo will run from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m.

A large array of veteran-friendly organizations will conduct one-on-one interviews with the job seekers—organizations that will include corporate employers, law-enforcement agencies and other government employers, franchisors, educational institutions, veterans service agencies, and veterans associations.

Already in the line-up are the Argosy University/Denver, Brown Mackie College, Cincinnati State Technical and Community College, CSX Transportation, Direct Employers Association, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), Gateway Community College, Insight Communications Company, Mass Mutual Financial Group, National College, Northern Kentucky University, Office Pride Commercial Cleaning Services, the Ohio Army National Guard, Standard Textile, The Art Institutes, United States Capitol Police, University of Phoenix, Veterans Administration—Cincinnati, and Xavier University.

The Xavier University Veterans Affairs Office was created in November 2009 to attract and support the growing number of veterans returning to college. That number is growing rapidly as a result of the Post-9/11 GI Bill, which became effective on Aug. 1, 2009. The bill provides financial support for education and housing to individuals with at least 90 days of aggregate service on or after Sept. 11, 2001, or individuals honorably discharged with a service-connected disability after 30 days. The office is led by David Kezsei, a retired Major in the Marine Corps.
