RecruitMilitary Employment and Education Expo for Veterans Coming to Jacksonville on February 11
Jacksonville, FL – (PR Log) – Jan 08, 2010 — RecruitMilitary, a military-to-civilian recruiting company based in Cincinnati, will produce a free employment, education, and entrepreneurship Opportunity Expo for job seekers who have military backgrounds in Jacksonville on Thursday, February 11. The event will take place from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. at Jacksonville Municipal Stadium, home of the Jacksonville Jaguars. The Expo will be open to veterans who already have civilian work experience, men and women who are transitioning from active duty to civilian life, members of the National Guard and reserve forces, military spouses, and other military family members.
The Jacksonville event will be the sixth of 73 Expos planned for 2010. Organizations attending those events will include corporate employers, law-enforcement agencies and other government employers, educational institutions, franchisors, veterans service agencies, and veterans associations. From 2007 through 2009, more than 1,675 organizations attended 215 Expos.
Already in the line-up for Jacksonville are American Eurocopter, Corinthian Colleges, Inc., the Department of the Navy – Naval Facilities Engineering Command (NAVFAC), FastTrain, FranNet, Grand Canyon University, Military Sealift Command, North Florida/South Georgia Veterans Health System, Prudential, Strayer University, The Geo Group, Troops to Teachers, UEI College, University of Phoenix, and Westinghouse Anniston.
RecruitMilitary will produce the Expo in cooperation with HireVetsFirst, a unit of the United States Department of Labor; Purple Heart Services; The American Legion; and the Military Spouse Corporate Career Network (MSCCN).
HireVetsFirst was created by Congress in 2002 to develop awareness among employers of the outstanding attributes of men and women who are transitioning from active duty to civilian life. Purple Heart Services (http://www.purpleheartservices.com) provides programs and services to meet the needs of the combat-wounded and their families—including Purple Heart Radio, an online school called Veterans Vocational Technical Institute (VetTech), Purple Heart Call Center, and Purple Heart Tech Support. The American Legion (http://www.legion.org) is an association of veterans who served during times of war. The Military Spouse Corporate Career Network (http://www.msccn.org) was founded in 2004 to provide career opportunities and job portability for military spouses. The organization is made up of military spouses, caregivers to war wounded, and retired military personnel.
