VA for Vets to Sponsor RecruitMilitary Veteran Opportunity Expo in Las Vegas on January 26
Cincinnati, OH – VA for Vets will sponsor a RecruitMilitary Veteran Opportunity Expo to be held at Las Vegas Motor Speedway on Thursday, January 26. This will be a free employment, business-ownership, and education opportunity event for job seekers who have military backgrounds. RecruitMilitary is inviting veterans who already have civilian work experience, men and women who are transitioning from active duty to civilian life, members of the National Guard and reserves, military spouses, and other military family members. The event will take place from 11:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m.
VA for Vets (http://vaforvets.va.gov), a service of the United States Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), facilitates the reintegration, retention, and hiring of veteran employees at the department. VA for Vets offers career-search tools for veterans seeking employment at the VA, career development services for its existing veterans, and coaching and reintegration support for military servicemembers.
At the Expo in Las Vegas, hiring managers from the VA will be on-site to interview and hire veterans for a large variety of positions available at the new Las Vegas Hospital & Community Living Center. This new facility will serve, on average, 60,000 fellow veterans.
RecruitMilitary expects more than 30 employers, franchisors, educational institutions, and government agencies to reserve exhibitor booths at the Expo. Already signed up, besides VA for Vets, are Apple Inc., The Home Depot, Amazon, Caesars Entertainment, Military Sealift Command, the National Veterans Employment Program (NVEP) of the United States Department of Veterans Affairs, DeVry University, Grand Canyon University, Enterprise Holdings, Northrop Grumman, Airstreams Renewables, TMX Finance, Cox Communications, Ameriprise Financial, First Command Financial Planning, JCM American Corporation, Country Financial, Frias Transportation Management, IADT, Nevada State Corporate Network, the National Nuclear Safety Administration, Homeland Security Solutions, Inc., Ed Bozarth Chevrolet, the Nevada Army National Guard, The Art Institutes, Troy University, and Northern California College of Construction.
RecruitMilitary (http://www.recruitmilitary.com) will produce the Expo in cooperation with The American Legion (http://www.legion.org), an association of veterans who served during times of war. The Legion has 2.4 million members in nearly 14,000 posts throughout the world. Congress chartered the association in 1919.
RecruitMilitary has scheduled more than 60 additional events for 2012. Those events will take place in Atlanta, Baltimore, Boston, Charlotte, Chicago, Cincinnati, Colorado Springs, Columbus, Dallas, Denver, Houston, Jacksonville, Kansas City, Las Vegas (on November 29), Los Angeles, Louisville, Miami, Minneapolis, Mobile, New Orleans, New York, Oakland, Philadelphia, Phoenix, Pittsburgh, Raleigh, Richmond, Saint Louis, San Antonio, San Diego, Seattle/Tacoma, Shreveport, Tampa, Virginia Beach, and Washington.
