Jobs, Business, and Education Event for Veterans Coming to Las Vegas on May 5
Las Vegas, NV (PR Log) April 4, 2011 – Las Vegas Motor Speedway will be the site of a free Opportunity Expo for men and women who have military backgrounds on Thursday, May 5. The producer of the event, Cincinnati-based RecruitMilitary, LLC, is inviting personnel who are transitioning from active duty to civilian life, veterans who already have civilian work experience, members of the National Guard and reserves, and their spouses. The job seekers will interview with corporate employers, law-enforcement agencies and other government employers, franchisors, and educational institutions. The Expo will take place from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
RecruitMilitary expects more than 25 organizations to attend. Already scheduled are the Air Force Reserve, American International University, Amazon, Columbia Southern University, DeVry University, Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, First Command Financial Planning, Grand Canyon University, Lockheed Martin Corporation, Nalco Energy Services—Downstream, the National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA), the National Veterans Employment Program (NVEP) of the Department of Veterans Affairs, Nevada Army National Guard, Nevada Department of Public Safety Personnel, Northrop Grumman, Remote Imagery Technologies Inc., The Art Institutes, The Learning Center, and TMX Finance.
RecruitMilitary (www.recruitmilitary.com) will produce the Expo in cooperation with The American Legion (www.legion.org), an association of veterans who served during times of war. The Legion has 2.4 million members in nearly 14,000 posts throughout the world. Congress chartered the organization in 1919.
RecruitMilitary has scheduled 42 additional Veteran Opportunity Expos for 2011. The events will take place in Atlanta, Baltimore, Birmingham, Boston, Charlotte, Chicago, Cincinnati, Colorado Springs, Columbus, Dallas, Denver, Houston, Jacksonville, Kansas City, Las Vegas (on December 15), Los Angeles, Miami, Minneapolis, Nashville, New York, Norfolk, Philadelphia, Phoenix, Pittsburgh, Richmond, St. Louis, San Diego, San Jose, Tacoma, Tampa, and Washington.
