Jobs, Business, and Education Event for Veterans Coming to Jacksonville on November 4

Jacksonville, FL (PR Log) October 1, 2010 – EverBank Field, home of the Jacksonville Jaguars, will be the site of a free Opportunity Expo for veterans and other job seekers who have military backgrounds on Thursday, November 4. The producer of the event, Cincinnati-based RecruitMilitary, LLC, is inviting men and women who are transitioning from active duty to civilian life, veterans who already have civilian work experience, members of the National Guard and reserves, and their spouses. The job seekers will interview with corporate employers, law-enforcement agencies and other government employers, franchisors, educational institutions, and veterans service organizatons. The Expo will take place from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

RecruitMilitary expects more than 30 organizations to attend. Already scheduled are Accredited Surety and Casualty Company, Action Coach, Aegis LLC, Capella University, Coca-Cola, Corinthian Colleges, Inc., DeVry University, Education Corporation of America—Virginia College, Geo Group, Inc., Goodman Manufacturing Company LP, the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Department, Military Sealift Command, the Military Spouse Corporate Career Network (MSCCN), Northrop Grumman, Prudential Insurance Company, Sanford Brown Institute, ServiceMaster Clean, Strayer University, Troy University—Jacksonville, UEI College, United States Customs and Border Protection, Waffle House, and Waste Management.

RecruitMilitary (www2.recruitmilitary.com) will produce the Expo in cooperation with The American Legion, an association of veterans who served during times of war. The Legion has 2.7 million members in nearly 15,000 posts throughout the world. Congress chartered the organization in 1919.

RecruitMilitary has scheduled 10 additional Veteran Opportunity Expos for 2010 and 60 Expos for 2011. The events will take place in Atlanta, Baltimore, Birmingham, Boston, Charlotte, Chicago, Cincinnati, Colorado Springs, Columbus, Dallas, Denver, Houston, Indianapolis, Jacksonville (on June 16 and October 27, 2011), Kansas City, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Miami, Minneapolis, Nashville, New Orleans, New York, Norfolk, Philadelphia, Phoenix, Pittsburgh, Raleigh, Richmond, St. Louis, San Antonio, San Diego, San Jose, Tacoma, Tampa, and Washington.
