RecruitMilitary Schedules Free Veteran Jobs/Opportunity Expo for Los Angeles on October 28
Los Angeles, CA (PR Log) September 27, 2010 – The military-to-civilian recruiting firm RecruitMilitary will present a free employment, entrepreneurship, and education event for job seekers who have military backgrounds in Los Angeles on Thursday, October 28. This event, the RecruitMilitary Opportunity Expo, will take place from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. in the Stadium Club at Dodger Stadium – and will be sponsored by Military Sealift Command (MSC). The event will be open to veterans who already have civilian work experience, men and women who are transitioning from active duty to civilian life, members of the National Guard and reserves, military spouses, and other military family members.
The Opportunity Expo will be the 63rd of 74 such events set for 2010. A large array of veteran-friendly organizations will conduct one-on-one interviews with the job seekers—organizations that will include corporate employers, law-enforcement agencies and other government employers, franchisors, and educational institutions. Already in the line-up are Argosy University, the California Department of Veterans Affairs, Capella University, Coca-Cola, Corinthian Colleges, Inc., the Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA), DeVry University, the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), Heald College, Health Net, ICDC College, the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), ITT Radar Systems Group, Lockheed Martin Corporation, L-3 Communications—Electron Technologies, Inc., Military Sealift Command, National Personal Training Institute (NPTI), the National Veterans Employment Program (NVEP) of the United States Department of Veterans Affairs, New York Film Academy, Prudential Insurance Company, ServiceMaster Clean, Snap-On Tools, Southern California Edison Company, The Art Institutes, 20/20 Companies, UEI College, United States Customs and Border Protection, and Verizon Wireless.
RecruitMilitary (www.recruitmilitary.com) will produce the Opportunity Expo in cooperation with The American Legion (http://www.legion.org), an association of veterans who served during times of war. The Legion has 2.7 million members in nearly 15,000 posts throughout the world. Congress chartered The American Legion in 1919.
RecruitMilitary has scheduled 11 additional Veteran Opportunity Expos for 2010 and 60 Expos for 2011.
