RecruitMilitary Will Produce Veteran Opportunity Expo in San Diego on September 23
San Diego, CA (PR Log) August 23, 2010 — The military-to-civilian recruiting firm RecruitMilitary will present a free employment, entrepreneurship, and education event for job seekers who have military backgrounds in San Diego on Thursday, September 23. This event, the RecruitMilitary Opportunity Expo, will take place from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. at NTC Promenade—The Corky McMillin Companies Event Center—located at the former Naval Training Center in Point Loma. The event will be open to veterans who already have civilian work experience, men and women who are transitioning from active duty to civilian life, members of the National Guard and reserves, military spouses, and other military family members.
The Opportunity Expo will be the 55th of 74 such events set for 2010. A large array of veteran-friendly organizations will conduct one-on-one interviews with the job seekers—organizations that will include corporate employers, law-enforcement agencies and other government employers, franchisors, and educational institutions. Already in the line-up are Argosy University, Bell Helicopter Textron, Inc., the California Department of Veterans Affairs, Capella University, DeVry University, Education Corporation of America, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), George Washington University, Heald College, Home Depot, ICDC College, Integrated Communications Solutions, Inc., Interfaith Community Services, ITT Technical Institute, Lockheed Martin Corporation, Marine Corps Civilian Law Enforcement, Military Sealift Command, Nalco Energy Services—Downstream, National Personal Training Institute (NPTI), the National Veterans Employment Program (NVEP) of the United States Department of Veterans Affairs, New York Film Academy, Prudential, RONCO Consulting Corporation, Schlumberger, Space and Naval Warfare Systems (SPAWAR), The Art Institutes, The Franchise Connection, TRAX, UEI College, and University of Phoenix.
RecruitMilitary (www.recruitmilitary.com) will produce the Opportunity Expo in cooperation with The American Legion, an association of veterans who served during times of war. The Legion has 2.7 million members in nearly 15,000 posts throughout the world. Congress chartered The American Legion in 1919.
RecruitMilitary has scheduled 19 additional Expos for 2010 and 60 Expos for 2011. The events will take place in Atlanta, Austin, Baltimore, Birmingham, Boston, Charlotte, Chicago, Cincinnati, Cleveland, Colorado Springs, Columbus, Dallas, Denver, Houston, Indianapolis, Jacksonville, Kansas City, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Miami, Minneapolis, Nashville, New Orleans, New York, Norfolk, Philadelphia, Phoenix, Pittsburgh, Raleigh, Richmond, St. Louis, San Antonio, San Diego (on December 9, 2010, and April 7, August 4, and December 1, 2011), San Jose, Seattle/Tacoma, Tampa, and Washington.
